Today we chat about productivity apps. Yep, it’s time to get back to work and stop messing around. When people talk about apps on today’s mobile devices they are usually talking about nonproductive apps. The time-wasting apps. Those are ok for every now and then, but please be honest with yourself. Are you trying to attain certain goals?

I have been working really hard to utilize the technology that we have before us in a productive way. A tool. Let’s use them as tools because after all that was the original intent. I have an online business so my mobile device is always at hand. To Ridiculously Enjoy Life we need a healthy balance of things and it isn’t always easy. Let us begin!

Best Productivity Apps To Keep You On Track

(Note: these are just aides)

  • The Calendar App. It doesn’t matter what type of device you have there is always a calendar app. Be smart about what you put on your calendar because that will now be stamped as a time commitment. We don’t get the time back. Also, try to refrain from putting useless stuff that only takes a couple of minutes to do on the calendar. If it doesn’t take that long and you are technically in an environment where you could do it, do it then. The calendar will help you be more organized. 
  • The Timer App. The timer is a perfect app to help you stay on track and not get burnt out. Time boxing is one of the best methods of time management that works for me. I work on something for about 45 minutes and then take a quick break. You can take a 5, 10, or a 15 minute break and then get back to it. The timer will be your digital accountability partner so please utilize it. You will thank me!
  • Grammar Checking App. For me, it is a fantastic tool. Whether I am working on documents that need good structure, doing blog posts, or whatever, I always use it. One thing to be mindful of is that it is just a tool to help you be productive, not to do the work for you. Don’t sub out your own tool, your brain for digital stuff. Pay attention to whatever the digital software is trying to change or adjust for you. It’s easy to just let the tech do its thing, but you need to pay attention to your mistakes so that you are actually learning how to compose writing. Even if you aren’t in the writing biz. 
  • Meditation And Mindfulness App. These are great if you don’t have your own routine yet and it provides timers and different environments to help you be and stay in the present moment. These are good ongoing life habits to have. Being present I mean. The app could just be a tool for you to create your new meditation routine. 
  • Note-taking App. Do you ever find yourself pre-staging a conversation, prepping for a speaking event, or having questions to ask at your next meeting? These are great to help you put your thoughts down in digital form. You have your device with you so you most likely won’t leave it behind.
  • Bonus: you can even put it in your calendar for you to look at the note on the day of your event to review the note you took. Works great!

Extra Bonus:

The Camera App. You can use your camera for all types of stuff. Soak in and enjoy the moment, document something important, or take a quick snap of that beautiful BMW that you want to get once you have been productive enough for it to be a reward. The BMW M3 Competition is a good one!!! Smile!
