I decided that I am going to write a letter to my 16-year-old self. It is a good reminder of where I am in life and to be grateful for all the wonderful things that I have managed to do and accomplish along the way. We put so much pressure on ourselves and thought it would be cool to set a healthy and balanced tone. I think you should write one as well. If you do please email us @ info4ridiculouslyenjoylife@gmail.com and we will post it for you on the blog. How cool, right?!

Dear Marc,

I am writing to you from the future. Please don’t worry all is fantastic and no I am not on my death bed. And no we aren’t in jail! Our life has been filled with so many wonderful bumps, bruises, and successes along the way so far. Kinda like that ride at Six Flags, you remember The Scream Machine! Yep, but it’s a hell of a ride and I know that I don’t regret anything because after all, I wouldn’t be who I am now if I changed a bunch of stuff.

Take some advice though from your future self to make things a bit less complicated. Stop eating a dozen “Fresh Hot Now” Krispy Kreme donuts at one sitting. For real, I mean who really does that anyway. That’s too much sugar and you know how you get! Try to find a healthier balance. I would say Google it, but you would be like a deer in headlights.

Go to Workout America and grab a couple of brochures. You don’t have to stay if you don’t want to but definitely take some pointers.

Learn to make good decisions for your long-term health. Oh yeah, mental health and well-being is a thing so you may want to get on that too. Please start meditating. No, you’re not too young for that stuff and no you don’t have to sit under a tree and hum. I promise!

You have always worked so hard for everything that you have done and received so stay on that, but for the love of God, you don’t need to play pool and hang out in parking lots every single night after work. Make a balance here as well. Every dime you make you blow on performance car parts, pool, and stuff. Dial it back a bit.

Since you go through money like it’s water, I would like to caution you. You never know what you don’t know and it is truly a good idea to build up your finances now. Like right now! Start investing in stocks earlier and start investing in yourself.

Yes, I know you can sell your set of 12 speakers and stereo equipment that you have in your Low-riders at any time but let’s be realistic here. If you sell them now then how would you hear your Bass CDs at the sound levels you hear them at?

On that note please remove the bass canons and dial the amps at lower levels, because yep you guessed it, your hearing will suffer. You will apologize to your mother for your hearing loss. When your doctor says to you in the future, “Do you work around aircraft all day?” That tells you something.

While on the note of family, I will tell you that you should go see your mom more often. Family is very important and don’t worry they will always be there for you but you need to do the same. Stop saying that it’s because you work all the time. Make the time.

When it comes to love open your heart. Yes, I know it’s scary since you seemed to have gotten used a lot, but if you don’t open it wholeheartedly you will never meet the girl of your dreams. Luckily it all works out!

I know you love speed you really do but please slow down so you can really enjoy the world around you. Take more pictures and please keep doing your art. You will continue to find your peace and tranquility through it.

In the end please know that your good heart and caring nature are alive and well. Nurture the heck out of that because that is your happy place. Keep lifting people up and know that not everyone will be your best friend and that’s ok. You are a healer and you are meant for greater things.

Spoiler Alert: Back To The Future was all a lie!
