These days all you hear is motivational rants about “Positive Vibes.”  An amazing movement spreading like wildfire that’s on t-shirts, stickers, posts online and every other place you can think of.  I love it and I love the idea of spreading the goodness to others as inspiration.  Sadly though I’m discovering many people who speak highly about it openly but don’t even practice it.  A conversation starts with someone saying to another that they can’t stand negativity and preach the whole “Positive Vibes Only” to others.

While stating this to others, they continue downing them and are extremely negative. Immediately following that explanation they remember another person that is negative, then promptly give more details about the negativity.  Stop. Look at these types of people and realize that nothing in their conversations and rants have any positivity in it at all.  These people seem to be more negative than positive.  Step away from the fake positive people immediately and move on!   You can’t bring me down!

Mean what you say.

It is said that our words have meanings, so tread lightly.  Let’s say that you are here and now for the purposes of becoming a newly created positive person, then I say this to you.  Upon meeting someone new that you believe has the right flavor of truly being a positive person, state “hey I am a person that wants nothing but positivity in my life and you seem to fit that bill.”  Then be quiet and let them speak.  Move on if they start talking about Suzie Q this, Joe this and so on because you’re just gonna end up on a negative train about nothing that has any value to yourself and your world.  If that person promptly responds, “I love it, let’s grab a coffee and chat about some cool stuff!”  Ok, work with me on this one.  I don’t know if anyone actually has starter conversations such as this but hey it sounds good right?!

POSITIVE: “The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible.”

Winston Churchill

Surround yourself with good people.

Moving on to the goodness.   When you surround yourself around others that truly give off that “good vibe” feeling, it inspires you for your own world.  This is really valuable for your new path.  Find people that will match you and one-up you along the way.  If you don’t have people around you like this then realize it is ok to be by yourself.  Don’t settle because you feel lonely.  Discover meet up groups in your area or even online that align with what you want.  When you are out and about, smile even if you aren’t feeling it.  Create and bring your own goodness.

I was able to finally get to the point where I understood the whole positive vibes thing.  When you give off to the Universal that you are a positive and driven person, you will attract those types of people in your world.  Treasure the people that have the same views as you.  Having a motivational and accountability partner in your world will most certainly help you along the way.  Brainstorm with each other about your dreams and aspirations.  Give feedback to each other as to how the progression is going.  I believe it’s like having a good gym buddy that pumps you up to accomplish those fitness goals.

Let others feel your positivity.

Finally, afford each and every situation that arises to find some positivity in it.  Yes, news that you just lost your job is most definitely perceived as negative, but viewing it as an opportunity to pursue what you have been wanting to do for a long time would be a good twist on it.  Go with that.  Over time the positivity and good energy will flow and you’ll truly attract more goodness in life and heck you’ll even feel better!
