We continue with success! Planning for your success, what a wonderful word.  This word is only earned with hard work and dedication.  For real, it’s not a given just because you want it.  I am understanding that success is a skill that is fine-tuned over time.  You have to refine your mindset in your pursuit of success.

The reason is because along this journey you should have created and implemented new habits and once you accomplish them you will realize that your mindset prior may have been a little off or you needed different actions, Just like skills. As you work on them and you get better, you combine your previous knowledge and experience with your new knowledge. This post will give you some good pointers to accomplish just that.  Most of these will be applicable to both internal and external success.

There is no special order for your attack!  …and go! Continued from Part 2. Here’s part 1.

  • Learn from your failures.                                                                                Don’t look away when you fail at something. Think about how things went and do your very best to uncover what could have been done differently. This is how you will learn. Make a mental note or better yet write it down for the future.
  • Failures are stepping stones.                                                                       When you learn from your failures, realize that each of these failures are real stepping stones for your path. Each one truly has value.  You will be able to recognize potential issues along the way from your history. Learn about the mistakes that your mentors made as well.  Use those as well. They all have value.
  • Don’t be disappointed by rejection.                                                              This one is very interesting to me. Rejection is saying that you are putting yourself out there. You have to put yourself out there to achieve the things that you want to do in life. It is my belief that rejection and failure are a part of the law of averages and it will not be like that always. Everything is a numbers game, so the more rejections and failures you get the more you are being refined for your endgame.
  • Continue to be a better version of yourself.                                              Don’t stay the same ole same ole. Even if you are doing well. There is always knowledge that we can acquire to grow. Modifying yourself along the way will give you so much more experience in life.  Be a better version of yourself.
  • Hunger for knowledge.                                                                                     I used to say that I don’t read books because my attention span sucked. I have realized that due to the invention of the internet, it has created a hunger for knowledge deep down and I love it. I am a researcher and I thrive on learning new things. Stay hungry for learning and growing. Do the homework it takes to get you to your goals. Apply them. Do research on topics that interest you and keep the momentum going.
  • Beliefs are shaped by the words you use.                                                   In the past few years, I am hearing more people say “be mindful of the words you speak.” I have been very curious about this and I have learned a lot about it since. Example: Someone is speaking about their immediate circumstances and they say “I always mess things up”  “I can’t do stuff like that”  “I will never be able to” and so on. These statements reverberate in the air and in their own mind and it quickly becomes an actual belief. Then the next part is giving up right away.  This then turns into a habit.  A habit of quitting.  It also tells others that you don’t have belief in yourself and your abilities.  You have to replace them with sayings like “I can”  “It is possible”  “I will absolutely try it.” This is another one that seems silly because you hear people telling kids their kids this but never do it themselves.  So start getting the goodness out there. The best way to do it is to listen to your conversations and make mental notes on how you respond to others. Did I come across as a happy and positive person or did I sound like a crashing plane? If you sounded like a crashing plane don’t worry, recognizing is the first step. Then when you get good with this you can actually stop yourself mid-sentence and replace it with the good. In a matter of time, your words will be way more uplifting and inspiring for others.
  • Prioritize adventure over safety and convenience.                                You have to live life. You need to feel the universe working. If you sit in your home being complacent with your environment then you will just be in neutral your whole life. Get out and see, learn, and grow with experiences and adventures. I am not saying that you need to be an adrenaline junkie, more of saying live. Connect with other humans. Yes, it is hard these days due to the mentality of others, but you and I can change that. We just have to step out of our comfort zone for a bit. Recently I was speaking with a young lady and she expressed that all she wanted to do in life was to go to work and come home and sit on her porch and relax. This may be ok for some people, however, I uncovered the back story. Her back story was that she had always busted her butt in life and never got anywhere so she was ok with it. She gave up. She gave up on life and living. This saddens me because there is so much in this world that we haven’t experienced.

Don’t give up go after your success!!!
