I Got Into Trouble Part 1 (#190)

I got into trouble. It wasn’t your everyday type of trouble like with your parents or at school. It was much bigger than that. That trouble weighed on my soul for many, many moons.

Getting into trouble sucks, especially if you are a good person. A teacher sending you to the office for disrupting the class. Perhaps by your parents and being grounded for two weeks for staying out too late. We don’t like to disappoint people

My trouble was well beyond that type of trouble. I was arrested. This is devastating to me even to see in text print let alone open myself up to all of you about it. Not many people know. I let myself down and I let down my family.

Bad Boys, Bad Boys

This is a very sad story of a young man who veers off the path and lands himself in a county jail. But please don’t worry, this story will get better as it progresses, so stay with me. We have lots of negative out there, but my story will bring a smile to your face.

Moving on to the story at hand. It was the year Jan 2, 1991, and I had just celebrated my 17th birthday about a week prior. Late one night a few friends of mine and I went out running the streets finding stuff to do. We played pool at the local pool hall, we hung with friends at meet-up spots and then all went home.

Bored and getting into trouble

Except for the four of us. One of the four was a girl I was dating and she really wasn’t involved. We got really bored and just ran the streets driving with no purpose. All of our money was gone because we spent it all on donuts and playing pool. Teenagers, aren’t they the worst?!

The driver thought it would be a good idea to look in people’s mailboxes for leftover Christmas cards with money in them. To this day I have no idea how he even would have thought about that. So, we kinda went around opening mailboxes. It was the driver and my other friend in the front going through them. Probably about a dozen or so I guess.

They got a few cards with a couple of bucks here and there. Then we stumbled upon one that had keys to a Mercedes Benz and a garage door opener. Both were to the property. Wow, who does that, right?!

Well, we were running very low on fuel and we decided to see if the garage had any gas cans with gas. We opened the garage door with the remote from the mailbox and…………….

To be continued…

Kinda like those TV shows that end as it’s getting juicy!
