Be Patient and Trust the Process (#290)

Be patient and trust the process. This is something that is absolutely easier said than done. Having blind faith is new to many people and thus very difficult to buy into. Trust me it will be well worth it in the long run.

Several things to be aware of before developing this skill. I would say first things first we need to develop self-confidence. Self-confidence is very important because if you aren’t confident in yourself and your abilities, I feel like it would really be tough to have any belief that whatever you are pouring yourself into will pan out.

Next, it would be a good idea if you understood your gut. Your gut feeling to be exact. This one is also great because it has a way of guiding you in a healthy manner. Follow this up with developing to be a patient person. This one is literal. Having patience with anything goes a long way towards being able to trust the process.

I know that the things listed above can be very complicated depending on where you are in your life. Do you feel competent? We need to have a calm and optimistic mindset for this to work. Things may not go as planned right out the gate and rarely does it ever. Life will throw us many curveballs so please be ready for it if you haven’t already noticed.

Being able to let go will help you learn and grow. Let go of trying to be in control of everything and surrender to the fact that you need to be in the present moment. Try to find joy in the journey and stop being so fixated on the destination. After all, you aren’t there yet.

Something else that could be important regarding where your mind is at is, are you a fixed mindset kinda person, or do you believe you have a growth mindset? We aren’t always taught the importance of expanding our minds in ways that will help us throughout our journey in life. You can progress no matter what.

Growth mindset/Fixed mindset defined:

A growth mindset believes abilities can be developed through effort and learning, while a fixed mindset believes that intelligence and talents are innate and unchangeable.

You can move forward no matter what, even if your progress is at a turtle pace. Being consistent is key. Remember the Tortoise and the Hare story? I know it will be very hard, but as you navigate your path, trust that you are making the best decisions. If you mess up, failure is a part of it. You learn and move on.

Failing is bad when you quit because that’s a definite sign that it won’t work. Things will come to you at the right time so have patience. Get inspired and try to keep that momentum.

Conclusion

Trusting the process will take a lot of hard work to get to that point. You will learn to be patient and you will learn that timing is everything. Just keep swinging like Dori!
