We May Be Broken But… (#162)

Do you feel broken? Why? Is it because of a preconceived rough life? I don’t know where you are or what you have gone through, but I do know that you can overcome any challenge you face. No, it won’t be easy. I’m sorry this isn’t a quick-fix blog post. You do have to put in the necessary work to overcome challenges. We may be broken but we may be using the wrong glue.

Everyone is broken in some way or another, it’s just a part of our journey in life. But the things we go through don’t have to define the rest of our lives. We have the ability to get through the rough patches, but we have to believe we can. If you live your life feeling defeated, then sadly you will be defeated. Open your eyes and go after your dreams. We can grow through what we go through! YOU vs YOU!!!

A very important thing I would like to caution you guys on is that you need to be mindful of how you go about getting the right glue (information) to help you get back together. We have so much information on tap and so many resources that it could very well be extremely overwhelming. Examples could be the internet, therapy, books, conferences, and so on.

When you have so many resources things could get out of hand. You could be seduced by wonderful vacation retreats to far-away beach destinations, and best-selling books by very vibrant characters. But could all that information fit your specific situation? Perhaps, but I believe we need to have a filter and realize the things that could help us.

What glue are you using?

Many people get so confused that they end up putting the wrong glue on and make things worse. So much so that they could just crumble. They crumbled because they felt that they were in such bad shape and that they were helpless. Don’t give up. Take a moment to look at where you are in life and what steps you took to get where you are. Did you try to force-feed many different resources to get you on track? Do you feel confused as to the direction you should go? This may be a clue that you have overdone things a bit.

The next step should be to refine things a bit. Take things slower and focus on your own ability to heal internally without outside input. We come factory with a lot of tools to help us although if the wiring is all tangled then we need to untangle it first so that we can go about it in a better way. This part could be tricky because you may be so lost that you don’t know how to get back.

Conclusion

Many of us are or have been broken at some point, but we can always make something new and stronger out of it. Find the goodness and try to not beat yourself up. You got this and we are here for you!
