Tune Into Your Intuition (#244)

Have you always felt a certain sense of belief in a given moment about something important? The feeling in the pit of your stomach. Your gut? “I have a gut feeling that there’s something bad about to happen!” Did you listen to that little voice or did you ignore it and then you suffer the consequences?

At some point or another, we all have had very true and genuine feelings about things. This is intuition. It is thought to be a little voice of yourself that forewarns you. Each of us has different ways of perceiving this internal emotion.

intuition: the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning. An instinctive feeling.

Believe it or not, we have a second brain! Yep, it’s been proven and many of us have known this for many years but haven’t had the words for it. It is located in your stomach. It is a series of network neurons in the lining of the stomach. This is that underlying sensation that we often feel and we have labeled it “butterflies.”

(look it up for more in-depth details of its location and function)

We now have more clarity of where it all came from and it is by far very fascinating to me. That tummy of ours does much more than we thought possible. This second brain of ours isn’t like the first where it has decision-making abilities. It can guide you in different ways if you can trust it wholeheartedly.

This trust I speak of is really only possible if you have done a significant amount of internal work on yourself. Self-development work. You should know yourself very well and have a good understanding and awareness in the present moment. This “gut feeling,” or “intuition” can be very powerful.

Here are some good ways to tune into your intuition:

(these are also applicable in many areas of our lives)

Be outside. Take time in the outdoors and just be with nature. Good stuff.

Technology breaks. This really is good to do regularly not just for the sake of tuning into your intuition. I have a little conflict with this sadly because my main business is strictly online. I have seriously reduced my time with tech so I am very proud of that.

Art, doodle, and draw. This is a super cool way of getting in tune with yourself. When we turn inward we get a sense of peace and tranquility. Turn the noise off. Get your creativity flowing. Try it!

Create a vision board. This can help you understand where you sit presently and where you want to be. More habits such as this will help fine tune who you really are and the byproduct will be a good intuition. I am very intuitive and I have always been this way. I like people and I feel I have a good understanding of who they are.

Think fast. Many times when a situation arrises and we have some type of feeling about it we tend to second guess ourselves. Sometimes we may not want to believe our “gut feeling” then time goes by and that internal intuition becomes distorted. Act fast and think fast when we feel it no matter what.

(disclaimer: this could be a life or death decision. Do this at your own risk. Ridiculously Enjoy Life will not be held responsible for any dangerous and reckless behavior) 🙂

Full body scans. Do a full body scan on how you are feeling regularly. This will get us better aligned with our emotions. It’s also good to know where general aches and pains may be as well.

Take a chance. Test it out when the moments arise and see how you feel and how it turned out. Make some good notes. Environment, mood, and circumstances are all good information to help you predict your results in future situations with your intuition.

Meditate. This has many benefits for your overall mental health and well-being. Meditation practices vary from person to person. Find what works for you. Don’t give up. I do my own form of meditation during my walks.

Conclusion

To tune into your intuition you must first understand who you are as a person. Do the work it takes to progress and succeed internally and you will see a whole new world open up to you. Develop new and healthy habits.

Love this week’s blog! Who knew “that feeling” we get is actually something to listen to! I’ve always had that and it very rarely has failed me both good and bad. Thank you for being you and sharing so that others can learn more about out themselves. ♥️
