5 More Great Quotes to Start the Decade (#21)

Here are 5 more great quotes to help you get the decade off to a good start.

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

-Eleanor Roosevelt

Truly believe in your dreams

Have you found what your dream is yet? Your passion?  I have!  It has taken me a very, very long time to put words with it.  I believe I am able to clearly define it. Helping others directly around me makes my soul happy.

The only thing I secretly want in return is a happy reaction.  I know they say you shouldn’t do things for others for anything in return, but I enjoy that moment when the other person lights up with joy.  When you know what your dreams are you must believe in them wholeheartedly.  It doesn’t matter what your current circumstances are.

“You will face many defeats in life, but never let yourself be defeated.”

-Maya Angelou

Don’t throw in the towel, hold on to it for your sweat

It is easy to give up.  It is easy to just throw the towel in, but defeats are failures and failures are learnable experiences.  I believe a lot of people view the so-called failures/defeats as how others would perceive them as a whole, and they might but the reality is that those people don’t matter.  Regardless of who they are, if they don’t see your true value then that’s their issue, not yours.  Don’t worry about how you may be viewed.  Look inward and get up again. Take the challenge on and look for more inspiration around you.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want. Everything else is secondary.”

-Steve Jobs

Being young and uncertain

You probably look up to them and don’t want to disappoint them.  Many stories in movies are told about parents that want their kids to grow up to be lawyers, doctors, firemen, or pro athletes.

You will know the people that inspire you and that have your back.  Choose these people wisely!

“Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.”

-Babe Ruth

Face what you fear

Fear can have such a power over someone that it becomes debilitating.  In the past few years, I have learned that it is ok to have fear. Be realistic about what the emotion is and define it.  The fears you should face are the immediate fears that are in the path of where you are trying to go.  Evaluate that risk and make a plan on how to overcome it.  Little by little your fears will go away. Find as many opportunities to be inspired.

“You have brains in your head. (You’re smart) You have feet in your shoes. (Get moving) You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go…”

-Dr. Seuss (and some of my two cents)

It is plain to see that you are a beautiful, strong and amazing person with many gifts for the world.  If you realize this then this will give you a good starting point, but others may block your path with unnecessary distractions. Feel free to bulldoze right through them.  Ok, please don’t do this.  Navigate your machine without road rage.  I truly believe where there is a will there is a way.
