Being or becoming choiceless sounds pretty bad, right?! Well, it may be depending on who it is and what the circumstances are. In life, we are dealt many cards and it’s up to us how we play each hand we’re given. The game changes regularly and the rules can change with them. Dang, it’s like being on a rollercoaster with no idea what happens next. Being choiceless can become a good thing.
We are dealt a bad hand
Ok, so at this point, we are dealt with a pretty poor hand. Like every card sucks. We have now become choiceless. We now have to find a way out of the situation we are in. The struggles are real and we can only count on ourselves to get through it. No lifelines and no phone a friend options.
Through the years I have spoken with many people who at one point in their lives or another were down in the dumps and struggling financially just to survive. Some of these people managed to figure things out and get creative on how they could spring back. They were also even able to increase their income by large margins.
We need to find a way out
The need to get yourself out of a bad situation is real and the fears and concerns are 24/7. It is this that makes some people come up with some amazing solutions, by hard work and dedication to get through it. If you have people that have financial resources accessible for you in case of emergency and you are just floating along, you can become complacent in your life. Drive and determination may not be present to progress on your own.
The creditors are now knocking
The people referenced above didn’t have mom and dad, relatives, or friends to help them through the rut they were in. The repo-man, the creditors, and foreclosures all arrived. They became choiceless. Some of the best innovations, creations, legacies have been due to people originally being choiceless.
Let the rags to riches stories begin.
The Rock– he started out with only $7 in his pocket. Having a very rough upbringing, managed to get through it. It was the drive and determination that got him where he is today. It wasn’t an overnight thing, it took a long time. He stuck with it.
John Paul DeJoria– self-made billionaire. Best known for co-founding Paul Mitchell hair care and Patron Spirits Company. He was in the foster care system as a boy. Later on in life, he ended up living in his car, because he was choiceless. He then busted his butt getting creative on how to earn a living. Early in his career, he said, “The only way I could go was up.”
Jim Carrey– broke and nowhere to go. He was homeless and lived in his van. Jim envisioned himself being a star and emulated the process to make it happen. He did it!
George Soros– escaped the Nazis and carved his own path to financial success. He is a big financial investor and invests in franchises.
Conclusion
When your life is tough and you can’t afford to make ends meet, it is up to you to find or create a way to make progress. You need to realize that it is going to be ok, but you have to get up and take action. You will struggle, but you will come through it better than before. This is one way you can develop an unbreakable spirit.
