Did you ever look up to someone and that person always said things that resonated deep within you? Did that person inspire you to bring out the amazingness that you are? What happened to them? They may still be there and please be grateful. They also may not be in your life anymore, that’s ok too. Life can bring people into your life at different time periods for a reason that we may not know, that’s a part of it. Having a good and healthy mentor in your life is important in your pursuit of personal development. We include 8 amazing influencers to get you motivated for success.
We may not have good mentors or influential people around us to keep us in check, so the next thing to do is to think outside the box. That box these days are computers, which contain the world wide web. Let’s look at this “web” that people describe sometimes in a negative way. The web, if you look at it as the web in nature is all interconnected and we can utilize it as a tool. The resources are far and wide. For people looking for a virtual friend, an influencer, a mentor, and a guide, please consider using the internet for that. It is goodness on tap if you direct it to do so. We are in charge of what we view!
I have compiled a large two-part list of people that speak to me on a certain level. (not in the way that would require me to wear a nice white jacket that hugs me all the time) I use them as resources in my pursuit of excellence within. Please know that not everything that people say will be the almighty fixing tool. That’s not the purpose. You take bits and pieces of what’s being given and use them in your world. Use them as reminders, guides, inspirations, and actionable resources. Get off your buns and get in gear!
The list includes some characteristics that resonated with me from each person.
There is no order to this what’s so ever. Pot luck. I take bits and pieces and implement them where I find use. Be open and please share some of your mentors with us. Don’t give us your cousin Suzie’s cell phone number, because I don’t think she’ll appreciate mass random communication. Ha.
A while back I stumbled upon a YouTube channel that really spoke to me. The videos have a wonderful mix of motivational speakers with a layout of footage that evokes emotion. I totally dig them!
Check them out and see which ones speak to you!
Tony Robbins– Many years ago I had heard about him, but I quickly discarding him because I believed he was a joke. I only saw something briefly and never gave the opportunity. I was in a different place in time and had no idea of the value. Now I believe that he seems pretty cool. The upfront and in your face type of approach has more impact on people to help them make changes. The shock and awe style of impact with a rough voice. Not for everyone, but it forces you to make yourself accountable. Watching him, you can really feel that he loves what he does. You can see how having thousands of people in one building for the same purpose can create an energy of goodness. I think I will make my way out to see one of his events.
Les Brown– Preacher style approach and great delivery. He speaks in a manner like Martin Luther King did which I really like. He speaks of his roots with emotion and humor. His laugh is pretty funny, which to me keeps me engaged. Motivational and he really gets into how he struggled in the past and used his situation as a tool to succeed.
Zig Ziglar– (passed in 2012) Mother of God, he’s got a southern accent. Humor and conviction are a big part of his delivery. A lot of approaches for success and relatable stories.
William “King” Hollis– This guy has a lot of emotion and conviction in his voice. His vulnerability makes me really relate to him. The rough past and at the bottom looking up view made him rise. He tries to speak to all on a level that keeps you wanting to listen. Appreciate your world and help others.
Rachel Hollis– A fun-loving young lady with a wholesome approach. She really likes to empower women and show how to use real tools to get to where they want to be. I was raised by my mother, have a sister, and have two daughters, so I can relate to a lot of what she says. She’s quirky and also speaks to teenage girls.
Oprah Winfrey– She’s Oprah Winfrey! This lady has made an empire when many doubted her. Overcoming adversity and thriving every day. My emotional side really relates to her and always focuses on what she is saying.
Andy Frisella– This gentleman is another shock and awe type. No b.s. approach to anything and everything. He is a guy that made something from nothing and had a rough past. Having such a rough past gives him the ability to deliver motivation on tap. He seems to speak from the heart with a foul mouth. Interestingly enough, bad language shakes people up and dials them into what’s being said. The reality is people should stop whining about the world owing them something and get up and do something for themselves. Andy is in my same circle of friends throughout the US and for whatever reason for the past few years I keep missing him during our events, but I would like to meet him. A lot of my friends say he is really a genuine guy.
Brian Tracy– He is a well-spoken gentleman with a good guiding approach. Gives a lot of advice for accomplishing certain goals. He is focus driven and likes to convey that to his audience. He is a great resource for becoming productive. You have to be productive and learn time management so you can become successful.
