In life we find ourselves caught in dogma and have no idea why. As you look back in time you can see how we the people have been programmed to be a certain way and do a certain thing in life. As children, we are told to go to school and get good grades. Furthermore, they say go to college and get good grades to get a job. Then the day to day 9 to 5 grind begins. They tell you to be doctors or lawyers and you’ll have a good life. It is said, “go work for someone and enjoy your weekends off.”

The systematic mentality of daily routine to get up, go to work, spend your 8hrs, then go home, go to sleep and then start over the next day, as a result, it makes us complacent. In this state of being and existing we void ourselves the potential for a better quality of life. You should like what you are doing. I believe that the industrial revolution during the early 1900’s defined this mode of thinking, hence the lack of drive.

Strive for more

What if you want something different? Society, in general, seems to set up and keep the average person down by projecting the mentality of the 9 to 5 grind as being the safest avenue. Consequently, you find your worth as earning wages by the hour.

If you don’t have enough money to enjoy doing things you like you can work more hours in exchange for payment. This is very sad. All of the posts where people say “TGIF” are saddening. Happiness should be during the workweek as well. Why can’t we celebrate “TGIT?” Most barely have time for themselves, their families or anything else for that matter. This dogma mentality must change.

The way to change this is to pull yourself out of that traditional box you’ve been in and think about your aspirations in life. What do you value? For me, I value my time and I feel this undying need to help and connect with others. My purpose in life is to heal others, although I don’t want to be a doctor. I get emotionally attached and mother of God I don’t like seeing blood pouring out of someone like a water fountain. My goal is to help others so that they can better help themselves. I understand that there are many ways to pursue passions in life and I enjoy exploring them. We are in a very cool time were earning an income has many different possibilities. A flexible lifestyle if you will.

Take control of your day

This doesn’t mean it is easy. You can be more in control over your day to day life giving you a sense of accomplishment. Owning your own online business is a good example of a flexible lifestyle. This type of work can be done anywhere. Your job is to figure out what you want to pursue in life. Don’t let dogma prevail.

Write things out that you like and that makes you happy. Speak it out to help you get clarity and you will be surprised how things can start making more sense. Get with someone close that you can count on and talk to them about it. If you don’t feel like you have anyone worthy, by all means, feel free to connect here because we have all been there. We will help you. Most of us here probably have some cool ideas to help.

Conclusion

Don’t get caught up in dogma. Reevaluate your priorities for yourself and don’t concern yourself with others’ opinions. Your happiness is very important, so don’t discount it.

fear:
